This is the official calendar of the New York Fashion Week
The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) together with IMG have published the official New York Fashion Week calendar as part of the American Collections Calendar. The parades will take place from September 8 to 12. This is the first New York Fashion Week of mostly physical shows after two seasons of presentations dominated by digital ones.
In 2019, when famous American fashion designer Tom Ford
was elected president of the CFDA, he made it a priority to reform New York
Fashion Week. It shortened the fashion festival to five days to align
itself more with major European catwalks and created the American collections
calendar to encompass all American designers performing outside of official
NYFW dates.
The long-awaited return to normality
Some of the biggest names on this fashion calendar
include Prabal Gurung, Dundas, Moschino, Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, Jason
Wu, Coach, Brandon Maxwell, Tory Burch, Oscar de la Renta and Tom Ford himself,
who will close the New York Fashion Week.
"New York Fashion Week is back with a diverse
representation representing the future of American fashion," said Steven
Kolb, CFDA CEO, in a statement. “Our fashion industry has come together as
we continue to emerge from the pandemic, and having a collaborative spirit is
paramount to the success of our creative talents. Working together with
IMG has allowed us to present a unique program of shows and presentations for
the Official New York Fashion Week within the American Collections Calendar ”.
All physical programs will follow the New York State
Health Guidelines and the CFDA will also send out a health, wellness and
diversity memorandum. New York is doing well with the launch of the
vaccine with 56.6 percent of people vaccinated, representing 11 million people,
already fully vaccinated and 22.7 million doses administered in total.
